What is 1v1 Durak?
Durak 1v1 is the fastest, most dynamic format. No throw-ins, no waiting — just you against your opponent, attack versus defense. The average match lasts 3–5 minutes, perfect for a coffee break or a quick best-of-three.
1v1 Rules
Played with a 36-card deck. Six cards each, next card sets the trump. Lowest trump attacks first.
- The attacker plays one card; the defender must beat it with a higher same-suit card or a trump.
- The attacker can continue playing cards of ranks already on the table — up to 6 pairs or until they run out of cards.
- The defender either beats everything (becoming the next attacker) or picks up the whole pile.
- After the round, both refill to six (while the stock lasts).
- First to shed all cards wins. The other is the «fool».
1v1 vs Multi-Player Durak
In a duel there are no throw-ins, so the team-pressure factor disappears. What matters most instead:
- Reading your opponent's hand. Remember every card they discard or pick up.
- Trump count. Only 9 trumps total — every movement is visible.
- Tempo. In 1v1 you can deliberately play fast or slow, imposing your rhythm.

Track Opponent Cards
Critical in 1v1. Every picked-up or discarded card is a struck line in your mental ledger. By mid-match you should know which trumps remain.
Preserve Pairs
Two aces in hand is an endgame double-tap. Don't break pairs unless you have to.
Aim for an Empty Hand
The ideal state is finishing a round with 0 cards in hand after the opponent picks up. That means the refill gives you a completely fresh hand.
